Amy to appear at Glastonbury

Amy Winehouse will perform at this year's Glastonbury Festival, organisers
revealed today.

The London-based artist will perform directly before headliner Jay-Z on the
Pyramid stage at the Somerset festival on June 28.

Earlier this month, the 24-year-old was told she would not face charges over
video footage which appeared to show her inhaling fumes from a crack pipe.

Winehouse has since struck up a friendship with fellow singer-songwriter Pete
Doherty and the pair are believed to be recording new material together.

They both recently appeared in a strange online video posted on the YouTube
website, in which they both were seen talking to newborn mice.

Despite the controversy she courts, Glastonbury Festival organisers today
insisted the delayed announcement of Winehouse's performance was not down to
"issues to do with her personal life".

A spokesman for the festival said: "She is performing on the Saturday night,
she will be the last performer before Jay-Z.

"We just wanted to make sure her team was happy with the arrangements before
she was confirmed. It wasn't due to issues to do with her personal life."

The Grammy-award winner's appearance and behaviour have sparked concerns about
her wellbeing from friends and family.

Winehouse - now worth £10 million - was admitted to hospital last August after
a reported overdose of heroin, Ecstasy, cocaine, ketamine and alcohol.

Fans were shocked to see the Back To Black singer bloodstained and covered in
scratches after she quit rehab with her husband Blake Fielder-Civil.

Fielder-Civil is currently awaiting trial on charges of conspiracy to pervert
the course of justice A fortnight before she was questioned over alleged
drug-taking footage she received a caution for slapping a man during an
early hours row.

This year's Glastonbury Festival, held at Worthy Farm, in Pilton, will take
place between June 27 and June 29.

Winehouse is also booked to headline Bestival on the Isle of Wight and perform
at T In The Park and the V Festival.
